Warsaw-Nasielsk Rail Line
Warsaw, Poland
The Warsaw–Nasielsk line is an important rail connection between Scandinavia and the southern European countries and is critical to economic development of the two areas. To continue its integral role in enhancing mobility along the trans-European railway corridor, the line required a complete regeneration to increase train speed, improve passenger safety and enhance traffic capacity. ARCADIS is supervising the modernization activities, ensuring proper performance of construction works, as well as conformity with technical design and legal requirements for the project, which is expected to take four years.
To improve the quality of the passenger experience, ARCADIS first addressed the condition of the railroad itself. By modernizing the rail infrastructure, the engineers not only increased the reliability and punctuality of the service, but also decreased the amount of daily maintenance required. Operations, as a result, run more efficiently, and passengers benefit from faster trains. To improve safety, the team introduced two-level crossings and modern signaling systems at all stations and junctions. These enhancements, as well as noise-reduction technologies, improve the overall quality of the transportation mode and contribute to a more enjoyable journey.
